@equipmeot1: I’ve had mixed experience with zip-on compression stockings. For some, they are an absolute game change, others not so much 🤷🏻♀️ Here are a few ways I’ve used them successfully: 1. Over an open or acute wound, open skin, or injury to prevent irritation from the pulling of a traditional compression stocking over the area repeatedly. 2. To speed up donning/doffing for caregivers. 3. For individuals with good strength but reduced endurance as it is typically a faster application process. Note: Always monitor skin around the zipper as it can become a pressure point for some! #occupationaltherapy #otstudent #physicaltherapy #pt #otd #caregiving #arthritis #chronicillnesses #chronicpain #lymphedema #swellingfeet
Today I learned that zipper compression socks existed 🥰

You can probably just attach a ring to the zipper pole for dexterity issues

If I may offer a tip don't pull them all the way up into your knees. It pinches nerves and restricts circulation. Ideal placement of the top cuff is 2cm below the crease at the back of your knee.

They are so helpful. I hate putting on non-zippered ones so I don’t wear them- thus these are so much better because I’ll actually wear them

If you've been prescribed compression hoisery by your GP (nurse) you can get compression wraps. Jobst do a whole range of compression wraps which can help with accessibility and compliance.
