Each station is noted with a number and each line an alphabet, useful if you don’t read Japanese or trying to give direction to someone who is also not familiar with the Tokyo subway system 2. Google Maps is your best travel buddy in more ways than one – use it to determine how to get to your platform as switching lines or even just locating you line can be daunting especially at the larger station like Shibuya. Shinjuku and Tokyo 3. Tokyo trains ALWAYS ON TIME – always allocate some additional travel time to make sure you don’t miss your train 4. Try to avoid peak hour travelling 5.
