also because the grooves near the center have more audio information packed into a smaller space, the audio quality near the center is worse than the edge

Iirc that’s why older albums were structured like they were with the slower ballad type tracks in the middle/as the last track

Iirc there were attempts to make variable speed records and players but obv didn’t work out due to expense and no one wants to buy the white album again

Another reason why vinyl sucks. Inner groove distortion is another inherent flaw in the system.
