Actually, when my kid was in travel ball, it was Monday through Sunday. And it became ridiculous. All year round.

No they don’t. Have two or more kids playing a sport and the family gets torn apart. I see it all the time.

I played travel ball. Went to a tournament then drove to our family vacation in KY/TN for a week and then went to Florida for Nationals..not one of us complained about not spending time together. 😅

As a kid whose parents didn’t allow me to do sports cause it interrupted their evening couch session. Listen to him. I feel like I missed out on so much not being allowed to partake

If a kid is practicing 5-7 that is from the time we are home until basically bedtime when you consider travel time and the routine. By 7th grade practices are 4 days a week.

100% agree!!! My kids are older now, and all played travel ball. Had a blast!!! Will never forget our sports families. And we didn't have a ton of money. We made it work. THEY WANTED TO DO IT!!!!

As a former gymnast, I could never do anything except go to workout or meets. I don’t have many memories with family. As a coach, children were with me when they weren’t at school, so checks out.

Parents are allowed to say no and set boundaries. 🤷🏼♀️What works for your family is great! but it may not work for another family, and that's okay.

For us it was. It was wake up at 4:30 go to weightlifting. Then go to class. Then practice I had 45 minutes between practice and work and worked till 11 and repeated daily. Did this for FB, WR, BB

just saying, my son's travel baseball team had a 1st round, 5th round, and 13th round draft picks in the last 2 years. 9 of the players went D1. my had immense family time!!!

My brothers kids never had a family vacation. They had hockey tournaments and soccer leagues. And now they are adults and wish they would have spent more downtime as a family… they don’t count the car

Exactly! My kids have made the best memories. We get to see lots of places and alot of family time!! We have weekends off and do game nights etc

I have 4 kids and we play seasonal sports, we aren’t doing all the extra travel stuff! We do go vacations and stuff but you have to have e extream talent to actually make it big from sports !
