Manson’s writing is pretty damn raw! 🥩 Even the first part is intense—called "Don’t Try," it’s about Charles Bukowski, who spent 30 years of his life being a loser. 🤡 He wanted to be a writer, kinda like me.🫠 But he kept failing. By the time he was 50, a publisher reached out and his book was finally released. Isn’t that amazing? 💸💰🤑 Manson says Bukowski’s secret wasn’t relentless effort but being "comfortable" with himself despite his perceived failures. 🤠 Another part of the book I like: "You’re Not Special." 😎 Don’t ever think that any advantage or suffering you’ve had makes you special. Nah, man! ⚠️ You’re just regular! There’s a line in this chapter that blew my mind: "Understanding and accepting your ordinary existence will actually free you to get done what you really want, WITHOUT JUDGING OR EXPECTING GRAND OUTCOMES." 💆‍♀️ Why? Because ordinary stuff is what really matters.🤝🏻 Manson said, I agree with that‼️ In the chapter "The Value of Suffering," Manson lays out 5 rational values that go against what most people think (these will be the topics of the next chapters in the book): radical responsibility; uncertainty; failure; rejection; and contemplating our mortality ⚰ --> which left me stunned! 😲 That’s my take on this book since it’s super popular, right?
