Monkey D. Joey :
Should’ve specified that it should be the least amount of boxes needed

you didn’t even explain the code, how do you correlate your logic imo python, i’m new to cs

An important constraint to this problem : 1 <= apple[i], capacity[i] <= 50 This means you don't need to sort with O(nlogn) but instead generate the count array from a counting sort in O(n)

This is so confusing. Will a fs degree cover this stuff

I mean this is incredibly obvious.

Why are you using a lambda based sort and not just the built in 🤨

Your code is wrong, you do not stop when total_apples is zero or less. The way you do it, it will always assume the total number of boxes😳

This only works if you can split the „containers” into separate boxes which wasn’t mentioned. Otherwise the input [4], [2,2] breaks your code.

It may seem obvious but coding questions usually start simple and more is thrown in. Like next they would say how can you store the apples with the least empty space in the boxes

feel like it should be least Amount of boxes such as 2 5boxes or 1 8box 2 1boxes

Eric :
question iwould have: "Do the apple groups need to be mutually located or is it ok to assume an apple is an apple? Why else group in the first place?"

What about using a hash map? It would be more efficient

Isn't the sorting the hard part? You just handwaved it away.

If the apples are all in containers wouldn’t it mean you would have to maintain their initial groupings?

you can also do cap.sort(reverse=True)
