I did maya in uni, blender is so much more user friendly I use blender with maya key binds it’s so good

All the people here hating on blender are just mad that they payed for maya or max 😭. In about 2 years it will be the industry standard. Accept it

Games Artist here, used Maya, Modo and currently Blender for work. I still much prefer Maya, Especially with a ZBrush > Maya > Substance Workflow.

as someone who enjoys 3ds and blender, only use Maya for animations, 3ds is definitely easier and sometimes more efficient but I generally prefer 3ds for large scale projects
