@hays.hiking: Silver Springs was absolutely magical. I’ve never seen water so clear and crystal blue! Before our road trip I’d seen many of the springs of Florida on TT and knew I wanted to make one a stop along the way. The night before we stayed in a cute motel and woke up early to get in a short hike and do some exploring. The weather was beautiful but a little chilly early in the morning from the rain the day before. First we took River trail out to a small dock and Jane had a blast swimming around in the water. After this we went to the main entrance where they have glass bottom boat rides. I wish we had time to take one but we had to get on the road to make it to the East coast. They say you can see manatees here in the winter since the water is warmer but we didn’t luck out this time. This just calls for a return trip asap!!
