Ok but what if the dr gave me pain meds before manual balloon dilation. Wouldn’t my baby test + then. Do they still go and report it

Karen :
In PA, they are not notified solely for the mom being on MAT.

When I had my son they called cps cause me and him had benedryl in our system but they didn’t know it was benedryl until they did a deeper test so they dropped it obviously but it was still traumatic

I had a cps case for being on MAT. They did a 2 min house tour and left me alone bc I’m strong in my recovery with so much support

When I gave birth each child, cps was notified and they literally just were required to see that I had a crib and all baby supplies. Maybe confirmation of being on MAT too? It’s been years but they

I wonder how they have the resources to do that. At least where I live it seems like everyone is on some form of MAT.

In WV cps will be notified and visit while baby is in hospital, do home check and may open a monitoring case but if you’re honest and open they will leave you alone soon 💜

It literally drives me insane that it’s categorized as child abuse/neglect in my state, it’s infuriating. Like how is being on a prescribed medication child abuse?(1)

Why are we as women…and our children subjected to drug testing throughout pregnancy and then after birth. Why are we guilty until we prove ourselves

Yeah it’s crazy. But it’s not considered abuse, it’s child neglect.

They are absolutely yes in Ohio at least but not in the same way as a case like where drugs were abüsed. I’m on subutex and they just had a “CARE case” for me. Only visited me twice then case closed.

I say look up the laws in your state. a lot of states open up an investigation if u test positive for any narcotic prescription or not.

It’s hard to say whether they will open an investigation at birth or not because it depends on each individual person, state and circumstance. I have great sites in my bye-0 if you need more info

that is not the best advice..if you are pregnant and already on MAT for example methadone/ suboxone it can really harm the baby or miscarry if they withdrawal in the womb
