"The Widowmaker" this was during one of the F-104s test flights when Chuck stalled at 100,000 feet and went into a flatspin. He fought for control but ultimately had to eject.

Im no genius but wouldn’t u want a bigger chute for the plane or at least pop that one first to slow decent then deploy second bigger set for landing

correct me if I'm wrong I don't know annything about this 104 crash but when he had the parachute out he had it under control and if he use the afterburner with the chute he would have recovered no?
