I disagree completely. At the end of the day, colleges take risk by picking applicants. Showing that you have picked up coding prior to college and want to go into cs demonstrates you have an idea

You’ll probably take 2 intro to programming courses on 1 language then the rest of the classes do not teach you how to code or will have you code in a a different language for assignments.

It would help a lot, especially if you are a transfer. Would recommend learning the programming language taught in the intro course based on the university you plan on attending

In my country we have a school where you get HS degree and a diploma in a given area, if you get a diploma you can be accepted atraight to masters in that area💀
