@gregcpearson: Confidence impacts everyone on some level. Whether you’re a new runner working towards your first half marathon, or you’re a more experienced runner going after a faster marathon time… The confidence you have in your ability to achieve your goal is going sit on a scale. For a new runner, running your first half marathon could be a scary target. You might not be able to comprehend how far you have to run on race day and you question if you’re EVER going to be able to run that far. Your confidence level might be pretty low in the beginning. For the experienced runner, a faster marathon is a huge accomplishment and even if you’re “only” wanting to shave off a few seconds, that’s pretty scary too!! Although, they’ve done it all before. They’ve cracked the distance, it’s just moving a bit quicker this time around. Both big goals for the individuals. Both perhaps not SUPER confident before training starts… they’re entering uncharted waters to an extent. It’s going to be a big training block. But that’s what training is for. To become fitter, faster, stronger, so that you feel confident and ready to race. As you progress through training, you’ll gain more & more confidence simply by ticking off each session as it comes. You cover those long runs. You smash interval workouts. You consistently get your training done. And you start to feel better about achieving your goal! So, if you’re lacking a bit of confidence with your running at the moment, you just have to keep working at it (so long as you have the right strategy) Keep ticking those sessions off. #Running #runningtips #runningmotivation
