I wish I understood WHY they want specifically "extra hot" drinks. You can burn the grounds/leaves so I don't think it taste. is it an attempt to get to the start of the queue?

we've changed our machines at work to the automatic ones and they physically don't heat up the milk any more than a certain level, you can guess the reactions we've had 🙃

Milk burns at 75-80°C, it's not meant to boil. Burned milk tastes bad, kinda sickly. Not sure what is going on with some people's tastebuds, but your coffee should not develop a skin.
