BENCH PRESS MISTAKE🙅‍♀️ Make sure to save this TikTok so you can use this for your next bench press session!💾 If you are a powerlifter who plans on competing, then you NEED to make sure that your butt stays down on the bench. This issue is very common in powerlifting, and it happens all the time in competition.📝 The reason that your hips are coming off of the bench during the lift is because of the way that you are applying leg drive. Leg drive can be very helpful and add a lot pounds to your bench press- but are you applying leg drive optimally?🧐 If you are struggling with this issue, try doing this your next bench press session. Instead of exclusively applying leg drive to get the bar off of your chest- try continuously applying the same amount of leg drive the moment you unrack the barbell. 🚨 Doing this will allow you to maintain consistent tension with your feet/legs allowing you to have more control with your hips being planted on the bench. Personally I aim to feel the connection of my glutes/hamstrings with the bench and I think about driving my hips up the bench towards my traps. It might seem like a lot, but this has helped me really nail my leg drive over the past few years. 🧑‍🔧 What’s the biggest issue you’re dealing with in training? (MORE CONTENT IDEAS💭) 🔹 Follow me for more tips and advice for beginner powerlifters! 🇵🇭 @niicoflores 🇵🇭 🔸 The Introduction to Powerlifting Program is LIVE NOW!
