Part of the reason is that Italy’s average salary is about $35k (vs US $75k). Everything should be about 1/2 of the cost there.

Tbh a nice weekend in Miami/NYC/LA is equal to 2 weeks in Europe(London, Paris, Madrid, Rome) could even make that a month if you do Balkan countries

Toooootally agree! I live in Canada and vacation in Portugal as much as we can (we have family) and we never vacation around here it’s never ever worth the cost and too much work to search for things!

What is your airfare to Europe for your family? That is the holdback for us. Also, you can get hotels here for $250/night that includes breakfast. And who can spend a month in Italy every summer?!
