@stefanie_williams: This morning on @skynews, I discussed the impact of Endometriosis on millions of women worldwide. 🎗️ While being able to bring awareness to Endometriosis over the years has been crucial, it's time for action. That's why I'm launching a petition to make Endometriosis screening mandatory for all women, which is set to go live in the coming weeks. This is something I hope we can all get behind, If you don’t have endometriosis, your best friend, sister, daughter is highly likely too, so please share this post to help. Why is this petition so important? Reduce Diagnosis Wait Times: Currently averaging at nearly nine years, mandatory screening will significantly shorten the time it takes for individuals to receive appropriate care, sparing them unnecessary suffering. Save NHS Costs: Endometriosis costs the UK economy £8.2 billion annually. By addressing the condition earlier through mandatory screening, we can alleviate this financial burden and allocate resources more efficiently. Improve Quality of Life: Millions of women suffer from endometriosis symptoms that profoundly impact their daily lives. Early detection and intervention through mandatory screening can lead to improved outcomes and enhance the well-being of affected individuals. Increasing Education and Awareness: In addition to addressing diagnosis and treatment, mandatory endometriosis screening will play a crucial role in raising awareness and educating both healthcare professionals and the general public about this often-misunderstood condition.
