They think my dad has Wernicke/alcohol induced dementia. He’s been in the hospital for 2 weeks now and still no diagnosis. How do I get the hospitalist to diagnose him? They’ve done their fair share of CT scans.

The biggest issue is convincing the person they need to be evaluated. I am going to have to wait for a catastrophe before my SO will ever admit evaluation is necessary.

My father passed away a y16 mos ago and my mom’s memory is so bad. Brain scan came back fine six months ago but more recently. Her short-term memory seems really bad.

Agree!! It was soooo hard & time consuming to get care for my mom without it. Legally couldn't move her into memory care until proof of 24/7 needs/care with Alzheimers

My SIL has Rapidly progressing dementia. She was ok in November and now is on hospice care. Wish we had pressed for diagnosis. Thought we had time.
