I think it has much to do with letting it go to seed and less about animal impact. Although animal impact probably open up the sward for germination of clover and ryegrass from last years seed crop.

Crazy question. When I watched Yellowstone, hundreds of cattle were killed by the enemy dropping clover bales. How is that different from this clover? Forgive the ignorance
