The floor mat might have been pushed up under the gas pedal. It happened to me earlier this week.

I did happen to me once, but the problem was a service technician dropped a flashlight while changing out my steering column, it went under the mat behind the accelerator and wedged in there, pedal on

Can’t help u, most of us drove manuals in the uk so we wudnt not go faster we’d just burn the engine out if we didn’t go up a gear. But if the car was broken or wudnt speed up

It does happen it does kick down into passing gear and you have to let off but it is in fact a malfunction you may need to flush and change the transmission fluid if it has grime in it or

vapor lock when transmission is shifting and flooring the gas pedal doesn't give enough time to shift and then it doesn't increase speed. take your foot off the gas a and try again. it will take off
