maybe spraying brake clean in there and the aluminum sweated and they trapped water in the hole and it froze. I would think oil would work out with those coarse threads

You shouldn’t goin in those when you pull the injectors. The valve cover gasket has a seal that goes around there. Never have I seen in those holes unless the gasket was bad. 1/2

Always slowly install blind hole bolts to avoid? I feel impacts are always the culprit.

Coming from the local diesel shop in northern Iowa. We see hydrauliced bolt holes all time. Injector hold downs all the time. Especially hpop/oil cooler bolts on the 6.0/6.4’s

Any fluid or dirt in soft metal as aluminum with make cracks. Even hard metal if it’s stressed enough. 100%
