3rd grade teacher here 🙋🏻♀️I love it! They are at the age where they can start to do things independently, but they still like to be fun/silly/goofy. Most aren’t too cool for school yet either.

As a K teacher, my classroom management strategy is sarcasm and they LOVE and respond to it. I’m not the sweet teacher. These kids are DIFFERENT. 😅😂

2nd grades con is it’s a reading to learn grade but a lot of students do not come in as fluent readers. That’s the con for second lol

I teach Kinder and am so sad that I don’t have time to do fun things. My district pushes too much curriculum for the littles, it’s really sad😩

I’ve only taught 4th. It’s odd because some are still into cutesy stuff like getting a sticker and others no longer care about stickers. Some believe in magic still and others have figured it out😂

I wouldn’t call K/1 planning (or anything about K/1) easy. You have to think hard about their eokotiinal and fine motor development to plan appropriate lessons.

High School teacher here juniors/seniors. Pros you can have actual full convos with students and don’t have to deal with parents(rare exceptions). Love the content I teach too

I LOVE 2nd! The biggest con is that there is a huge transition in content and independence and sometimes parents aren’t prepared for the change. I’ve heard of parents saying that k/1 are so FUN but

i feel like 3rd grade is really hard bc a lot of states have those cant pass 3rd till you’re proficient in reading which may be hard to get students caught up who are behind
