@organized.finance: I GOT A JOB! After nearly 2 months of job hunting, I recently accepted a new software engineering role at a tech startup 💻 🚀 For some background:  I was laid off in January, and while I wasn't too bummed about it career-wise or financially (thanks to a great severance package), the uncertainty of not knowing my next move would be stressed me out a ton.  Now that I'm on the other side of it, I really feel like the layoff happened for a reason. That was the push I needed to force myself to get out there and interview. And as you can see, my new base salary is gonna be WAY higher than it was at my previous job 👀 I'm really, really excited about this new role. Financially, it's a big upgrade for me. Career-wise, I'll be learning new skills that I think will benefit me in the long run. It is a pre-IPO company, so the value of my stock comp is kind of up in the air, but that's just part of working at a startup. If you were recently laid off, or are going through your own job search process -- I know firsthand how stressful it is. Take care of yourself and know that the struggle is temporary! You *will* find the right fit for you eventually. I have LOTS of details to share about how I prepared for interviews, my job search process, and my thoughts on the tech job market in general.
