@standtallvolleyball: You may have read this and thought “DUH,” but your backswing when you hit can actually have a big impact on how high you jump! Most obviously, you’ll want to make sure you’re drawing your arms back behind you when you approach, and swinging them up quickly to give you a boost when you jump. But, there are a few things you’ll want to consider that aren’t so obvious. 1) What are you doing with your arms before you swing them back? A lot of players have a tendency of doing a lot of crazy stuff with their arms and they don’t even feel themselves doing it! Start with your arms in a relaxed, neutral position before your backswing. 2) How far back are you pulling your arms? Some players think that the farther back they can swing their arms, the more upward momentum they’ll generate, but that isn’t entirely true! Swing your arms back a comfortable amount, but don’t overdo it. These things may seem small, but it’s the little things that add up and make a difference! #volleyball #armswing
