@katblaque: #stitch with @sasha allen as a transgender woman who has never had plastic surgery, I have always found it very odd that people see surgery as a requirement for being transgender. I started my medical transition at 19 years old but to this day, I still get to have plastic surgery. I’m not writing it off though but I’m glad that I’m at the point where I know that it doesn’t define me. #plasticsurgery #ffs #dysphoria #transtok

The implants are the weirdest push to me as if A cups aren’t super common for cis women. It’s like do they think cis women need implants too like ???

It probably stems from the societal standards of women in general - girls are taught from a young age to meet that surgical level beauty standard

the problem to me specially when doing activism is that we need to advocate for both access to gender affirming healthcare and for the option to refuse it. both are essential

1.) I feel like this need for plastic surgery started first as a survival mechanism in order for trans women back in the day to live safer lives were marginalised in such a violent way

Partially due to how centralized the medical industrial complex is in the US

For me, the people who want to police who is and isn’t trans just sound like the conservatives barking “What is a woman?”

it's kinda funny when you hear people say all the time trans people have always existed. so like they didn't have surgery, but that still makes them trans.

Are the people who say this usually rich? I thought we all knew that access to surgeries is a privilege many can't afford even if they want to!

I have maintained for years that this idea that you MUST have surgery to be Trans is what leads to people having regrets/detransitioning.🦋

what pple don't get is that there has been a semantic shift in the 2010's from transexuality to transidentity. so when someone says they're trans, it doesn't say much about their transition.
