And I CANNOT believe it 😄 I only made it in the buying office for approx 3 years 🫠 For those who have been on the inside, iykyk corporate buying can be high stress and super competitive, especially when you're on the line for hundreds of stores and millions of dollars. I thought analyzing numbers and making sense of open to buy would come much easier. IT DIDN'T. I CRIED 😅 I LEFT. In your formative 20s, this felt like a HUGE failure. My sense of worth. I'm (still) working on this with my business coach & therapist ha!, comes from succeeding.🤦‍♀️ I was lost. It took years, but I realized I was just climbing the wrong mountain, and I did have a skill set, after all. Society Social 👋 Belk taught me how to navigate the business side of retail, and I'll be forever grateful to the people who brought me up and gave me this "new" opportunity to try again. What a precious gift it is to be trusted and to be given a full circle moment. ⭕️ I realize not everyone gets one. 🙏 For those starting out or over, keep going.
