@nmartin33: If you know how to lay a line, you don't have to block everyone out doing so... 🚒🤷🏻‍♂️ I often hear this excuse: " We can't lay a line—we'll block the truck out," or block someone else out, or some other crazy excuse. I'm just saying. I've been on departments that lay lines at every reported structure fire for the past 20+ years, and it's never really been an issue. ✅ As you lay the line, keep the engine on the same side of the street that you started on. ✅ Cross over, if necessary, AT OR PAST the fire building - depending on whether you want to stop short or pull past. ❌ If you drive down the center of the road, those will lay in the center of the road. ❌ If you drive like you're on a slalom course, the hose will zig-zag across the road. It doesn't have to be a big deal if you know what you're doing...
