INGREDIENTS: 12 count Hawaiian Rolls 1 pound Spicy Italian Sausage, about 4 links removed from casing 1 (14.5 ounce) can red gold petite diced tomatoes 1 teaspoon chili powder, optional 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or white cheddar cheese 1/3 cup fresh basil, chopped 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon flour 2 tablespoons butter, melted 2 tablespoons chives, chopped RECIPE: In a large skillet over medium high heat, add 1 tbsp olive oil. Cook the ground sausage until brown, breaking up with your spatula into tiny pieces, about 6-8 minutes. Add the petite diced tomatoes, chili starter, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and flour. Mix well. Simmer for 5-6 minutes, until tomato sauce is reduced by half. Remove from heat to cool 5-10 minutes. In the meantime, slice the slider rolls in half lengthwise. Drizzle the bottom half with olive oil then broil on HIGH in the oven for 2-3 minutes, until browned. Spoon the spicy Italian sausage mixture onto the toasted sliders, add the shredded cheese, then the top half of the rolls. In a small bowl, mix the chives and melted butter. Brush on the top of the sliders. Bake covered 10 minutes, then uncovered 10-12 minutes, until cheesy is fully melted.
