I would have cleaned the work area first You shouldn't have to turn the Torch on and off. To properly apply heat, so try to be more consisteand start from the bottom and work to the top as heat rises.

Coulda cut couplings in at same height as an aesthetic, otherwise seems functional and great

It’s not any easier to remove a compression stop than a soldered stop

Nothing much besides burning a little the wood on the bottom. Those torches always have a huge flame that’s a little hard to control. I use a swivel torch and the flame is easier to control.

You didn’t need to extend them up at all with compression

If you wipe the excess flux off the pipe after you heat it up, the solder won’t run and will give you a cleaner look.

Looks good. I would only say too much heat and solder, bad choice of escutcheon plate (with the split) and different level couplings. Still works great tho

Not all angle stops require pipe dope. Some can void warranty

Not wrong but pipe doping the threads helps a lot. Makes tightening that nut down a lot easier. Would also recommend taking off the handle on the straight stops so it’s easier to get a wrench on

no escutcheon, no pipe dope, and the valves are sideways
