@evanadelune: How much do YOU normally spend on a burlesque costume? 💃🤔 Here's my answer to "How much do your burlesque costumes cost?" from my latest YouTube video where I answered 20 commonly asked questions about myself. This question in particular tends to mostly come from beginners, so I just want to stress how important it is to remember that extravagant costuming isn't essential for a good act. You don't have to break the bank to have amazing costumes, and some of the absolute best of burlesque comes from the DIY side of the art form. Some of my nicest looking costumes are just cheap or second hand lingerie that I add extra details to and rhinestone myself. For example the heels I get the most compliments for are a $5 pair from an op shop that I painted and rhinestoned myself. It's also an unbeatable feeling to create something yourself as a fun project. I'm always so proud of my DIY pieces, and I get to save money and use it elsewhere in my business.
