@thelittlegreenbean44: One of my favorite ways to organize my sewing room is to store my fabric like it’s in a fabric shop. And I can tell you there is nothing better than walking into this space and seeing all of my beautiful fabrics organized on the shelf! Yesterday I decided to go through my fabrics and get rid of the ones I would no longer use. My style has changed, my use has changed and some of these fabrics I have had for 12 or more years. I decided that if I wouldn’t buy it in a store today, It was time to purge. I’ll donate what I no longer use to make space for new and updated fabrics! I use foam board, I buy big sheets of it at hobby lobby, Micheal’s, Walmart, etc and cut it down to 7.5” x 10”. I fold my fabric in thirds, lengthwise. Wrap is all the way around the board, fold down the corner and secure the end with a pin into the foam. Some people prefer other methods and I have found that this is what works best for me. Personally, I think comic boards are too flimsy and cardboard just isn’t as pretty but it’s cheap and will get the job done!! So do what works best for you!! I like that foam board is all white and it’s sturdy. I have been doing this for over 10 years and it works great! Mike had to fix my shelf for me, it was bowing a bit so he just used his pin nailer to secure the back in place. The shelf is from IKEA, but many years ago. I’m sure they have similar ones now that you can get.
