Unpopular opinion: go get tattooed. (Like a lot) Create rapport with your artist/ local shop. Ask questions, show interest. Learn tattoo history. These things matter.

its like the only “cool” way to get into it is be an already established illustrator who just happens to be coming by to grab a custom piece and they recognize ur face from a drive bar you both go to

You don’t go to random shops, you get tattooed a lot,establish relationships with tattooers and then after a while MAYBE then ask
