@j.b.m._vianney: Laureana "Ka Luring" Franco (1936-2011) Ka Luring was a dedicated Catechist, Lay Minister and Sevant of the Poor. In the 1969 she left her job as a telephone switch board operator and clerk in the Philippine Air Force to become a full time Catechist, dedicating her time and life in teaching the Catholic faith to children and the poor. She struggled patiently with ovarian cancer and peacefully returned to God on 17th of October 2011. Now 12 years later she is a candidate for beatification because of her zealous and indefatigable efforts to catechise the poor.
