@amywanghiller: This is not about how damaged my brain stem and C4-6 are. But the next few will be.😉🫶It’s my very first reel after surgery.💪 If you don't know me, then THIS is where you start to know me 🙆🏻♀️ My last March 13th - tethered cord surgery also carried one little worry about my breathing, but I did borderline alright. Besides, the diaphragm lost its rhythm after taking off the breathing mask. 🙀 But for this time, I went in knowing that I would desaturate if lying down….so they started me on the breathing mask sedation before even transferring me to the table.😴 I always have a fearless and zero-worry mind going into the OR… the only problem is after reducing the pain meds, after two days of intubation, switching to my nasal passive mode AVAPS…. I couldn’t pass my swallowing test…🤦🏻♀️😖 We didn’t bring our giant stationary humidifier part of the vent for traveling. So my throat and nose got so irritated that they started to become intolerable for an entire evening of that setting…🔥😤🔥so when insomnia plus the breakthrough pain, plus the nose would wake you up every 2 hours to complain about you don’t give any humidifier🤯 So, my dysphasia at one point really was in the way of me making any progress, even driving me into a fever and more spasms on the third day. 😩 However, the body sometimes can bounce back quickly for a person, too. I kept taking turns for less reclining MPV (MouthPiece Ventilation) and more reclined AVAPS nasal, my throat was healing so much faster without more irritation.❤️😍 And this is getting into the first 10th day of my recovery. Big wins! ⭐️Discharged from ICU/hospital ⭐️Had my first 🎻 post-op demo ⭐️Safely travelled home ⭐️Read through my entire report 😱 ⭐️Got back on IG to give you all an update ❤️ - #CervicalInstability #FusionSurgery #Quadriplegic #TetheredCordSyndrome #MusiciansOfInstagram #Violinistas🎻 #ViolinsOfInstagram #DisabledViolinist #Tetraplegic #spinalcordinjuryrecovery
