No, this isn’t the German way. I give always 10%, this would be 53,96+5,4=59,36$, I would rund that up to 60$

It is not „the German way“ to Just Round up to the Next 5 or 10. You give 5-10% depending on how good the service was. Here that would be 2,70-5,40. 1,04 is also rude in Germany!
