Ive had those jokes in work meetings with people from other countries, as if we were napping everyday. I think its something that is not done much anymore and thats why people get defensive.

My husband says that it’s because Spaniards don’t want to be perceived as lazy. He says it’s something that they do in free time, not everyday.

In the small villages there is siesta everyday. I spent every summer there with my family and it was everyday.

People get mad because we have a “reputation” for laziness in other countries (especially Northern-Central Europe) so we need to show constantly that we work hard and siesta is not sth we can do 🤔😅
