@nickiunplugged: I’ve been working with a performance coach, and each week we talk about the areas that are “taking up space” in my head 🫨 … Last week was this feeling of wanting to make sure my kids find the right tools to care for themselves emotionally … so they can protect their own light if someone tries to dim it. One of the things my coach suggested was for me to pocket in some time, daily, to ask my kids about the things that made them “light up”, “feel joy” and then to follow up with questions about the “why”… So we started doing it. My findings: sometimes its silly answers like “I let out a big fart” and other times, It’s about something they accomplished at school… or their time with a friend. So, to anyone who needs this, let’s ask ourselves (and our kids), the daily question of what brought you joy today and why. Maybe it’s a simple as having a yummy French toast stick lol or getting a compliment from another person and reflecting on how it made you feel.
