Yes. My father(from Appalachia) would slice, batter, and fry it. served it with homemade biscuits and apples cooked in a bit of the bacon grease. Best breakfast ever!

We call this special bacon in our household. We get our butcher to slice it thin for us. Then we microwave it. The bacon comes out nice and crisp and we save the rendered fat for seasoning our greens.

Jowel bacon has a sticky almost slime on it that when it gets fried gets so crispy and deliciously chewy! It is the most delicious bacon I have ever eaten! So glad you found it!
