As an Lpn I have worked as and Cna by choice numerous times just so the 1 aid on the floor didn’t have to work alone, and the days I couldn’t step down I still pass trays, feed pt’s and changed them

When I worked in Palliative care we had a horrible bug take down all the RN’s for days. Our DON came to work and asked me to direct her. We worked a straight 24 hours together, napping in turns.

YOU did the right thing! My Mom was affected by a similar staffing issue at the Rehab she was in. She fell out of bed onto her repaired hip. We left!

good for you. I am living in a nursing home, I am 54 I can not tell you how many days we have 1 CNA for 35 residents during a.day shift could be as high as 45 pretty much on a regular basis
