That doesn't work if you have very airy soil, bc the water keep coming and coming. Tried it, nearly got rotting roots.

This works, but the water needs to be below the plants, so they don't flood themselves. You can also use a cotton string that is covered with plastic in the middle section, between the water and soil.

I use hydroponics instead, it’s more hasle to set up and and then you need to water every 2 to 4 weeks.
