ALWAYS FIGHT IT WITH DPS. They are fantastic. Repainting a whole room to cover a small area of damage is completely unreasonable.

I left a house in august... the landlord kept it until february because we left the house with the mold on walls and he kept saying it was our fault, apparentily cause we never opened the windows😅

They legally couldn’t keep your deposit if you’ve made every effort to put it back as befor that’s why they have ignored you. By law they have to give the tenant first opportunity to fix it

I ALWAYS take before (moving in) pics and email them to the landlord, and after leaving pics. they cannot get you for normal wear and tear! at least in US...paint is NOT your problem and they should

Fight it your deposit is protected and as you tried contacting him you can use this as evidence my ex landlord tried it we offered a settlement after living there 8 years he refused

The same thing happened to me my deposit was £1900 the landlord took £600 from me for leaving new curtains up and a toliet sticker on i argued about this for weeks and give up in the end too 🙁

Fight it!! My landlord tried to take a cleaning fee, I sent 3 emails of evidence, asked for photo evidence that it wasn’t already there when we moved in etc and she instantly dropped it
