This was my house growing up. I have friends 15 yrs later tell me my parents were their safe space. I strive to be that house for my kids friends ❤️

We had an it house. Unfinished basement as a little kid - messy was okay. As a preteen - giddy, giggly stuff was okay. Teens - parents knew where we were at my house, stuff to do like game room, music

I didn’t come from an IT house but have now become one & love it. Love being a safe place for my kids friends. Snacks + availability to pick up/drop off + be understanding but not naive.

My kids have sofas in their large rooms. They can go there and I will throw snacks in and chat as they come in and out. 🤞 we'll be the it house
