I think it makes a lot of sense. Esp if you come from a place where there’s a lot of strays. You see wild dogs that don’t quite look like one breed in particular all the time.

I trust Embark! My dog is a shelter dog who was surrendered as a Boerboel but she didn’t seem to be purebred to me so I did the test and they identified the Boerboel and a few other breeds!

wisdom panel has things like that. my dog came back as 2% Mexican street dog which is apparently a village dog, but I'm skeptical about the extremely wide variance they associate with the "breed"

They can have classified and be from a certain area, but they are mutts, they’re all mixed and aren’t purebreds.

embark does have a "supermutt" category if a certain percent is hard to identify. they break that down further but its probably less reliable
