@ninedirections_forge: Climbing trees with shuko you need to gain an advantage in leverage, strengthen grip or benifit weight distribution. If shuko can add one of those advantages it's got a chance in succeeding. Of the working theories I hear the most. One: The claws add a better grip on the surface of a tree. Two: the tines get deeply inserted into the wood to maintain contact. I demonstrate both in this video. I would be happy to try other examples people provide me. Yet, In the end, I feel shuko provide no benefit to climbing. Shuko have a much greater abilityies, than just climbing.
