I don’t do this for a living but wouldn’t it look better and would have a lower chance of leaving a mark on the paint if you used heat

X-acto knife and use the tip to make a small puncture and squeegee it out the hole

yeah once the sun hits it and it all shrinks and settles your likely to see that hole if the paint under is wildly different
