She listed things like not seeing a full online gallery, not having enough experience, all definitely good things to think about if you’re looking to hire a wedding photographer. But it got me thinking… 📷 to hear the FULL LIST of 📷 📷 Message me “raw files” for my latest podcast episode While it almost never makes the news when a wedding couple goes crazy and hurts their wedding vendors, that actually happens A LOT more than the other way around. I think too often wedding photographers are so concerned that they won’t get booked up for the year that they will take every job that comes their way that offers to pay their prices. But ultimately that can lead to bad relationships if that’s the only criteria. 📷As a wedding photographer, you DO have the right to not accept a commission from someone. NOT DISCRIMINATE!! But lawfully turn away business. Any business has this right. So, here’s a list of things you should look out for if you’re a wedding photographer: 📷 CRAZY EYES 📷 OK, I debated not even putting this on here but the truth is every single client that I’ve ever had that had crazy eyes became a problem, for crazy reasons. I’m not saying turn someone away because you think they have crazy eyes, I’m just saying you’ve been warned. 📷 STRETCHING BUDGET 📷 While it absolutely is a compliment when somebody changes their budget to work with you because they value your work, if they are putting themselves in financial strain in order to work with you, I think that’s a red flag. Whenever we financially commit to something that’s outside of our means, we put UNREALISTIC expectations on it. You run the risk of chargebacks after the wedding… happens A LOT. 📷 dance break!
