I've got no problem eliminating intrest. but they need to restrict loans to educations that are employable occupations !

Loans were capped at 3% when I was in school in the 90s. The Parent + loan is 8.2% plus 4+% in fees. It's gouging.

Why just student loans? Why not all loans? Are they afraid we won’t pay them back?

Why is the government even in the loan business?

Certainly, force the bank to remove the interest, because they were bad loans. But don’t use tax money to pay for that interest.

It also says that debt is to be forgiven after 7 years.

I would be for no interest but keeping late fees.

Well better to remove all interest on student loans than to FORGIVE (sorry place the burden) back to the taxpayer. 🤷🏻♂️

they should have it, if the total amount paid equals the original loan amount, it should be forgiven. All payments to be adjusted for the principal and interest canceled.

GFY Industrial Supply :
If the argument is the concept of interest is the problem then interest on all debt would have to be forgiven and the entire economy collapses

😂 I've been waiting for some fool to post this. Before student loans college was cheap. interest rates on student loans were placed there by Democrats and certainly will never be removed by Dems.

Moving forward I have no problem removing interest. However current loans were agreed upon and should be paid in full by the person accepting the terms.

I could actually get behind that notion. Interest free student loans with penalties for late or failed payment.

Or how about making the loans dischargeable? Or even better actually revamp the student loans? Zero interest, forgiveness is buying votes and not fixing the system
