@meggrowsplants: Sadly, no asparagus for me this year 😭 but, I decided to plant strawberries and cilantro around the border, and lettuce in between to companion plant with my asparagus. So, at least I’ll be able to harvest something out of this bed this year! Asparagus can be a labor of love. You gotta wait a few years for that first harvest, but then it will keep coming back bigger and better for over 20 years! So, it’s worth the wait 💚 #gardentok #asparagus #howtogarden #gardenwithme #urbanhomestead #gardeningtiktok
I keep thinking of doing asparagus but can’t decide where to put it and don’t want to wait two years 😅 then each year think if I had done it last year I’d only have a year left

I like thin asparagus so is it fine to harvest tha asparagus even if it’s thin? Or will the plant die?

just curious, but wouldn't it be better to trim them so all the energy can go towards the root system?

most of mine are only 2 years old (planted crowns, no idea how old), and they're already as thick as a pencil. does that mean they're ready??
