cops were useless with my case and I got more trauma in the process of reporting and literally no consequences for the perpetrator 😃 DEFUND THEM HOES !

But fr if this happens to you, go to the hospital and ask them for a trauma informed team, they'll get your kit done, give you a patient advocate and get you set up with resources like legal services

I mean you still have to press charges and put in a report but I'd try to go to a lawyer directly I think. I wish sexual assault cases were handled by differently trained forces

I remember I had a woman police officer when I reported SA and after they brought him inshe said “he’s really stressed about all of this as you can imagine” after that I never heard back from them. 😍

like when i tried to tell my ex landlord that police aren’t legally required to protect you unless you’re in their custody and sited the Parkland case as evidence and he kept telling me i was wrong

I’m rural and don’t have a proper police (they share for like 4 other towns nearby or maybe it’s 3 but either way), when I did scouts we were encouraged by the fire station recommended we go to them ✨

I've called the police 3 times in my life. 1st time they asked what we did to cause the situation (we were 12 and walking home from school), 2nd and 3rd time they never showed up so theres no point.

I also don't think people fully realise what defending means. it doesn't mean to abolish the police force it means give them no more money than absolutely necessary and redistribute to NHS etc

when I was married, my ex husband had the cops called on him several times. the final straw for trusting police was the last time. cop told me if I called again I would be the one going to jail.

my mom worked at the sheriff's office and she would tell stories and add details like, if you ...are a victim... then I would want this one to find you, vs that one. I just understood her point.

c0ps have proved that they dont prevent crime and take up the majority of city budgets that could instead be invented into education/ other public resources 🫠
