@lvb.home: My top tips for painting interior doors: All of the doors in my home are really good quality and solid, but the red wood just isn't my style. I tried sanding one and re-staining but it didn't have the desired effect, so I decided to paint them instead. These are my top tips to get the best finish: 1. Wipe down the door with a soft, damp cloth to remove any dirt/debris. 2. Use a primer - I love @Zinsser UK BIN - and apply it with a paint brush following the direction of the wood grain. 1 or 2 coats should be fine. 3. (optional) Lightly sand the primer once fully dried. I've done this on some doors and forgotten on others and genuinely can't tell the difference. 4. Get yourself a paint sprayer! This is one of the best things I've ever invested in. I've used it to paint multiple doors including wardrobe doors and even my garage door, panelling, ceilings, walls, everything. This takes less than 5 minutes per coat of paint, rather than 45 minutes applying it with a brush.
