I’ve seen many many situations, once when my debit card didn’t work I had them hold a check and my id and I went back with the money to get it back and once when I was working we held an id for a lady

If it’s a big company they’ll take it out of the servers if it’s a mom and pop restaurant the owner will most likely pay for it. Doing dishes is against health code so no, no one’s ever done dishes

I had it where my debit was locked after I bought a car. I guess the fraud department locked it and I didn't know until I went out to grab a meal.
